Job Vacancy for Research Officer (Crop Reporting Service)

The Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has announced a job opening for the position of Research Officer in the Crop Reporting Service under the Agriculture Department.

Research Officer (Crop Reporting Service, Agriculture Department)

Basic Scale: BS-17

Nature of Post: On Contract Basis for a Period of 05 Years

Qualifications and Experience (As per Service Rules):

  • Master’s Degree (minimum second division) in Geographical Information System (GIS), Space Science, or Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing from a University recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
  • One year of experience in the use of Geographical Information System (GIS), Space Science, or Geographical Information System and Remote Sensing, preferably in the field of Agriculture, especially natural resources.

Note:

  • Only practical experience gained after the prescribed qualification will be considered.
  • Experience in private entities will be accepted if the entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or any other Regulatory Authority.

Age Criteria:

  • Male: 23 to 30+5 = 35 years
  • Female: 23 to 30+8 = 38 years
  • Age and sex of transgender candidates will be determined based on the contents of their CNIC.

  • Place of Posting: All Punjab

Syllabus for Written Examination/Test (If Held):

  • The written test will be of MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions) type.
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Duration: 90 minutes
  • Syllabus:
    • 60% of the questions will be related to the candidate’s qualifications.
    • 40% of the questions will cover general ability, including General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, English, Basic Mathematics, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Basic Computer Studies.

  • General Instructions for Applying Online:

    1. Prior to submitting your online application, please review the “General Instructions regarding Application Fee, Written Test, Interview” available on the PPSC website at www.ppsc.gop.pk.
    2. Employees currently serving in Semi-Government and Autonomous Bodies of the Federal or Provincial Government, as well as those in Local Bodies, are not eligible for age concessions during their service tenure.
    3. If you claim that your qualifications are equivalent to the prescribed criteria, you must provide an equivalence certificate from the Competent Authority of HEC/PMDC/PMC/PEC & QEDC of the relevant Administrative Department. This certificate will be accepted as final proof during the interview or when requested by the Commission. Failure to provide this certificate will result in the cancellation of your candidacy.
    4. If you claim experience from a private firm/entity, you must furnish proof during the interview that the firm/entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or another Regulatory Authority. Failure to provide this evidence will lead to the rejection of your application. Ensure that the private entity was registered during the period of claimed experience.
    5. After applying for a specific post advertised by PPSC, candidates must promptly apply for a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC in their respective Department(s) and furnish it during the interview if called.
    6. Immediately upon applying for a PPSC-advertised post, candidates must ensure they have obtained/applied for registration in PEC/PNC/PMDC/PMC/PVMC or other relevant bodies for the Registration Certificate on or before the Closing Date. This certificate should be provided during the interview if called.
    7. Please note that the Commission requires marks obtained/total marks or percentage certificates for all degrees, issued by the Competent Authority, during the interview. CGPA is not acceptable.
    8. Trust only information available on the official PPSC website. Any other information from external sources is not authentic.
    9. Shorthand Tests and Typing & Proficiency Tests, if necessary, will exclusively be conducted in Lahore.
    10. In the event of changes (increase/decrease) in the number of advertised posts by the concerned department, fresh applications will not be invited.
    11.
