Job Description: Department Head – Project Management & Governance

As we continue to expand our Information Technology Group, we are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual for the role of Department Head – Project Management & Governance.
Location: Lahore, Pakistan
- Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Project Management & Governance department.
- Align departmental goals with the overall objectives of the Information Technology Group and MCB Bank Ltd.
- Project Management:
- Oversee the end-to-end project management lifecycle, ensuring timely and successful delivery of IT projects.
- Develop and implement robust project management methodologies and best practices.
- Governance Framework:
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive governance framework for IT projects, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
- Conduct regular project audits and reviews to evaluate compliance with governance policies.
- Resource Management:
- Efficiently allocate and manage resources to optimize project outcomes.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture within the department.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Engage with key stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.
- Provide regular updates on project progress and address stakeholder concerns in a proactive manner.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate project risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Implement risk management strategies and contingency plans as needed.
- Budget Oversight:
- Manage the departmental budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide financial oversight for projects and report on budgetary compliance.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the department, encouraging innovation and efficiency.
- Implement feedback mechanisms to enhance project management processes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
- Proven experience of at least 10 years in project management with a focus on IT projects.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and risk management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
