Prescribed Qualification/Experience as per Service Rules:
i) A Master’s degree (second division) in Library and Information Sciences or an equivalent qualification from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission.
ii) Two years of experience in the relevant field.
Note: Practical/Administrative Experience after the prescribed qualification shall be considered. Experience in private entities shall be accepted if such entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or any other Regulatory Authority.
- Male: 21 to 28+5=33 years
- Female: 21 to 28+836 years (Age and sex of transgender individuals will be based on the contents of their CNIC)
Syllabus for Written Examination/Test (if held):
One paper MCQ type written test of 100 Marks with a duration of 90 minutes comprising questions related to:
- Qualification-related questions (80%)
- General ability including General Knowledge, Pakistan Studies, Current Affairs, Geography, English, Basic Mathematics, Urdu, Everyday Science, and Basic Computer Studies (20%)

3. Equivalence Certificate for Qualifications: If you claim that your qualification is equivalent to the prescribed qualification, you must submit an equivalence certificate from the Competent Authority of HEC/PMDC/PMC/PEC & QEDC of the concerned Administrative Department. This certificate will be accepted by the Commission as final. Failure to provide this certificate at the time of the interview or when requested by the Commission will result in the cancellation of your candidature.
4. Proof of Experience in Private Firms/Entities: If you claim experience gained in a private firm/entity, you must provide proof at the time of the interview that the firm/entity is registered with SECP, Registrar of Firms, or any other Regulatory Authority. Your application will be rejected if you fail to provide this proof of registration.
5. Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC: After applying for a specific post, candidates must immediately apply for a Departmental Permission Certificate/NOC in their concerned department(s) and provide it at the time of the interview if called.
6. Registration in Relevant Bodies: Applicants must ensure they have obtained/applied for registration in PEC/PNC/PMDC/PMC/PVMC or other relevant bodies for Registration Certificates on or before the Closing Date. You must provide the relevant certificates at the time of the interview if called.
7. Shorthand and Typing Test Location: If required, the Shorthand Test and Typing & Proficiency Test will ONLY be held at Lahore.
8. Document Verification: Candidates must provide marks obtained, total marks, or percentage certificates for all degrees, issued by the Competent Authority, at the time of the interview. CGPA is not acceptable.
9. Trust Official PPSC Information: Do not trust any information from sources other than the PPSC’s official website. Only information available on the PPSC website is authentic.
10. Variation in Number of Posts: In case the concerned department increases or decreases the number of posts, no fresh applications will be invited.
11. Fee Payment Methods: Applicants are advised to deposit fees online through specified mediums only, including ATMs, Mobile Phone Banking, Internet Banking, over-the-counter transactions at 1Link Member Banks Branches, Jazz Cash, Easy Paisa, U Paisa, and other available micro-finance banks.
